First coat of paint up in the whole kitchen, trim al painted, doors back onthe cupboards and best of all - all the food and such os moved back in. Meaning if it weren't for the fridge (while we tile the floor) and the little things that are being painted, I have a dining rom again!

Fridge moved out

Working on the floor

Starting the tiles (which are really dirty but you can still see them!)

renos

The kids table and chairs. They are being painting to match the red door.

Dave getting rid of all the junk. This was the last trip to the dump - there was a lot of garbage.

Trim is up! (thanks Dad)

So this is the wall that had the sink before with the corner cabinet. We aren't replacing it withthe corner - the goal in the kitchen was to gain stoarge space and room for kids. Along the sink wall is a cupboard and a three drawer unit. The end wall is empty - the kids little table is going there.
The main wall - lots of cupboard space!!

The other corner where our computer table used to be. Under the cupboard with no door we will put a small piece of counter (at the regular counter height) to make a little telephone nook.

That's it, the rest of the wall space will be used to make sure the kids have room to play (I think we will move the easal into the kitchen as well).
Next up is touch ups, painting everything, putting in the counters and the floor and the backsplash!

What our dining room looks like.
Dave doing something reno realted :)

They're up!! (missing doors still but hey, the hard part is done)

How we managed to get the uppers up by oursleves - mom watched the kids :)

Ceiling repaired (on both walls), cupboards have arrived and the kitchen is primed - things are moving along!

Dave finds the studs (come on - you know there is a joke to made there!)
Primed (before cupboards arrived)

Stairs before - I figured I should get a picture of the before as we will paint them when we do the kitchen.

Walls washed, plastered and sanded, not much different than before.

Dave being Dave while ripping the first layer of lino and subfloor up.

Mom helping to pull up the old lino tiles that were under the floor (aren't they lovely? The green matches the old counter tops and backsplash and as best we can figure, they ran that green strip around all the tables and such - outlineing the kitchen)

First half up.

The cause of this whole mess - a leaking faucet (okay so it caused the final need to reno but the ktichen was a mess, the floor was beyond cleaning and none of the cupboards closed among other problems)

Yeah mold! Not as much as I had feared at least.

Lower cabinets out, sink out. No turning back now!

Renovations cont'd

Computer and all food/ktichen stuff removed from kitchen, trim pulled down from ceiling

Uppers removed, side one

Uppers side two removed and all doors off lowers removed.

Kitchen renos begin!

So we have started the kitchen renos are moving along fast. We were incredibly lucky to have friend who are renovating their kitchen and gave us the old cupboards so we started ripping stuff out in anticipation of the cupboards coming. Our deadline is MArch 25th - here's hoping we can do it!

House update

November marked our first year in the house! We have painted 11 times, fixed the heater twice, two plumbing jobs and numerous small projects that without my dads help would still be on my to do list.

I am in a rush (what a surprise these days!) but I have been meaning to post these for ages. So they are mostly unlabed and just stuck in. I will try to update better soon.
